Default Looking for advice on buyer dispute

    Guys,

I sold my SRi lights to a member on here and he's claiming they are damaged and wants a refund. There was an issue sending them initially due to home delivery network returning the parcel to me for some reason, but they eventually got there and were signed for on Friday.

should these have been checked before being signed for and refused collection if they were damaged and why wait until now to tell me they are damaged when they were signed for on Friday?

Andy.l will confirm these were in perfect condition when we took them off.

    So looking for some advice.

Ask for them back/ proof of the damage in question.

If they are indeed damaged by the courier then its your contract with them to claim, not the person receiving them.

Worst case is have them returned, refund and chase for a claim from the courier.

I know I never check items before signing but I probably should.

My advice, you should have checked reviews for HDL before using them, they are abysmul carriers..

If they're damaged then you gotta have them returned and give full refund, its the right thing to do.. You cant expect a buyer to check a parcel contents before signing, just as you cant expect them to plug them into a car to test them before accepting delivery..

DHL delivered it in the end. Will issue a refund when returned as it seems to be one missing lug (I guess I could have missed that if it snapped off between being in the garage and getting them posted). I'm just surprised as I checked them when they were taken off.

I don't know of anyone that makes the courier wait while they open and inspect package at the door.If the lug isn't inside the packaging then it appeares to have been broken before delivery .If you do find it they can be plastic welded back on (albeit not as strong as before)Then ask buyer if they would be interested at a cheaper price.

ok, two lugs are broken (on different lights) and the pieces are there.. (knew I wasn't going mad).

****** couriers! Wish they'd "handle with care".

I was more thinking of checking if there was physical damage on the box.. not so in this case. VX do official repair kits which are quite strong, so will repair when they return.
