How easy is it to change a Hatch interior for a saloon one, the fronts are obviously not the issue but rather the rears has anybody done this and what was needed?

Saloon bench fits in to a hatch . Saloon rear seats need the leather taken off , a few cuts and then they fit on to the hatch seats.

Ah! so you can put the hatch rear seats into the estate, all the other posts I've seen have said this is not possible, however sounds to me like you've done it.

yes mate, i have done it, a few minor tweaks here and there, and its in, with nothing major to add, the underside of the estate bench has a hard vacuum formed foam base to give the seat its stability, this needs pulling out in one piece and fitted into the hatch. the cut out for it is there already, the brackets which hold the seat to the shell need cutting off, straightening and rewelded roughly 4" further apart on each side. the seat back and the front seats are very straight forward and a straight swap. i did try removing the covers from both seats, but the hatch cloth is about an inch too short for the estate seat, so with a little wave of my wand under where the rear cup holder is, cutting and shaping/bending, it now fits flush
