    Detailing world have just had a similar debate and one of the things that came out was that they actually ruin your painwork.
    This is mainly caused by no matter how tight these bonnets fit they still move around rubbing on the paintwork and ruining it.
    Apart from the previously mention factor there just ugly.

    I read that too Bob, all they do is scratch away the nice finish. Its a bit like a car cover in the wind!

    all the ones ive seen have been on cars with new ish paint jobs and they would never travel anywhere without them on and blue masking tape along the skirts and on the areas where debris splatter may occur

    does anyone have pics of paint damage due to using a bonnet/bumper bra or both
    id be interested in seeing this
