3rd brake light warning

hello can anyone help when ever i go over a bump in my 2002 vectra elite the 3rd brake light warning comes on on the display can anyone help me please thanks adam.

Is it deffinetly the 3rd brake light? If so have you checked all of its connections to make sure nothings loose?

ive not checked that one yet could it it be anything to do with the brake switch

I doubt it's the switch. It will be a loose or dirty connection if it's only doing it over bumps.

Didn't think the 3rd break light is on the bulb warning system, sounds like a dodgy break light bulb though. Worth checking the contacts and also maybe replacing the bulbs as the warning light comes on sometimes when the bulb is on it's way out. The wire in the bulb gets thinner after time, creating a higher resistance and throwing the warning on.

ill try that i think the 3rd brake light is led when the warning comes up the light still works tho so maybe its a connection problem

What makes you think it is the 3rd brake light and not one of the others? Do you know that the vec will use another lamp in place another that's faulty or blown?

As above really, sounds like a dodgy bulb or dirty contact on the bulb holder rather than a loose connection anywhere. Just check the bulbs and clean the contacts on the holder using wire wool...just unplug it first as you don't want to short it out and have burning wire wool in your hands!!

Edit: Oh and I meant "brake" not "break" in my other post lol, been a long day

hello still to try cleaning and changing bulbs but it still says check 3rd brake light im going to try cleaning contacts up in the week
