Possible Injector seal maybe????

Hi Chaps,

Took the wifes car to work today and noticed I could smell a slight diesel / fume smell in the cabin from the blowers.

Had a look under the bonnet when I got to work and all was as clean as a whistle except around injector no 1.

Its all wet and black sooty around it.. When smelling this perticular area with the car engine hot this is the smell I think I can smell in the cabin.

So - do we think injector seal? Not sure what else it could be really? Leak off pipes seem dry.

Looks like it from pics, clean area & watch for further leaks.

black and sooty could be it chuffing past the seal. if its wet and smelly (oh err) of diesel then the union..

Ok thanks guys..

Am going to spray and jetwash down tomorrow and keep an eye on it..

VX changed the Injectors less than a year ago - so if they are leaking then it should be under warrenty of a year for the injector replacement I hope!!

no 1 injector wasnt wet like that the last time I looked.. So there is defo something weaping..

Going to jetwash the engine tomorrow and then run for a week and see if comes back.. if not, no problem, if it does, a little call to Vx .. But I want to TELL them what it is first ..

Something similar happened on my Vec B 2.2DTi. The injector pipes weren't tightened down properly.
