    Default 3.0 V6 CDTi - 2nd service quotes

Following on from another thread i thought i would ring a few dealerships and get quotes for a second service on my car as it's due in the next fortnight.

I called two london dealers, Richmond and Heathrow and surprisingly enough they gave me exactly the same quote, i thought they would vary considering the threads i've read.

I was quoted £320 for the service, parts, labout and VAT incl.

Just wanted to gauge what other memebers with the v6 have paid for their second service. Is £320 reasonable?

Tax is due aswell, so £515 going on the car this month and not one penny on any kind of mod!?!??!

    cheers
    Harry

    Sheesh man that's expensive!

Don't forget you can go to an independent VAT registered garage for your service and under European laws your warranty will still be valid. though make sure they are a reputable garage before entrusting your baby to them

Wow £320 , when I got the car serviced by the dealer (about a year ago, to avoid any issues with the warranty) I’m sure it was just over £200. Not sure if servicing of a diesel is more expensive.

I’m now going to an independent who I feel does a better job (e.g. All door hinges greased – never had that done by the dealer), he goes to the dealer for a servicing pack – which means it's still getting vax bits and it cheaper.

Swatty - that £200 service that yours had is probably the first service, which is probably just the intermediate one, changing oil, oil filter and various check. The garage i called quoted £195 for that service so it seems about right.

Gil16e - for the £320 i get fuel filter, oil filter, pollen filter, oil change and a long list of checks(!) i.e brakes etc.

It's dear as all the parts are from Isuzu, not VX's own..

they have them by the short and curlies over engine spares prices..

The rest of the stuff is standard VX thou..

You'll save a packet mate.. their VX labour rates are mindblowing..

I'll bring my 'book' tonight so you can see what the bit's cost..

If you want to get it done elsewhere, you could even get the bits for them ang just get them to fit it..

    We'll discuss tonight????
