Question £1200 For full leather interior!

Been quoted £1200 to have my seats and door panels retrimmed in full leather. Would you say this is a good price? or keep looking??

Also does anyone know how much VX charge for Signum Design Front seats? Would they just go staright into my car 'plug and play' if you, like.

If the leather is good leather - i.e not made from dog skin in some back yard tannery in the middle of China -then that's not bad. Ask to see and feel the leather before placing an order first - otherwise you could end up with the above.
If it's for Nappa leather (very soft and heardwearing) then that's a very good price.

I used to be a leather auto interior trimmer so I know a bit about how it works.
One thing - whatever you buy probably won't smell what you expect it to smell like - that's down to laws dictating how the leather is processed and what chemicals can or cannot be used.
Cheap leather is like cardboard, so easy to tell it form the better stuff.

    Hope this helps!

*EDIT* last I heard, a Signum/Vectra driver's leather seat cover was over £500 from Perry's Vauxhall, Huddersfield. Obviously plus fitting charges, which would be around £100 a seat or for the rears. That was back in 2007.

I paid £1100 for my wife's Jeep done in 2006 so seems fair enough if,,,,, you can spec the leather and shade you want, i.e. Bridge of Weir, or BMW Montana or Nasca, possibly Mercedes Nappa if you prefer the smooth ultra soft stuff,,,

Thanks for your replies. Pedro, I did happen to go into the workshop and had a look at the leather they're using it was quite thick and supple. I'm not sure of the brand they use. I'll have to phone and ask for the brands they use and what garrantee he has on his work.

The place I went to is Car Connect in Wallasey, looked at their website before I gave a visit.

Imo, that seems alot of money to put into seats, like already mentioned you can get full vxr interior for less than a grand. Depends how long ur keeping car too... If your keeping it untill it looks like it belongs in a mueseum then fair enough, but the rate vectras depreciate in value if your only keepin it a few year if that, id keep ur brass in ya pocket! Things like big alloys ect can always be took off and sold on so ull get ur money back but this wont. Suppose if moneys not an issue though, go for it! I wud if money wasnt an issue! But then id av a lambo insted! Lol

if you're only after a leather interior then i'd stick with ebay or scrapyards.
i managed to get a full leather interior including doorcards for about £400 including delivery, a lot cheaper than £1200!!

but then it depends if you want a choice of colour, finish etc.
