    Default Key's

I have a slight issue guys.....

Last weekend I tried to set my alarm off by unlocking the drivers door using the key (i've never used the key in the door since buying the car in late 2008). It's possible that the key has never been used in the door at all in 6 years.....

The key would not unlock the car, It wouldn't even turn in the lock!

My initial reaction is of course "door lock has been replaced" or "ignition key barel has been changed", "corrosion" or possibly the key is worn? (obviously the key and ignition barel would wear together).......

Can ya'll think of any other reasonable explanation?

Does the key work on the other side?

I'm convinced the passengers door does not have a lock...... I don't know if I checked or if I imagined that lol

There isn't a lock on the other side.

Squirt some WD40 in the lock, it could just be siezed due to lack of use.

LOL, that just shows you how observant I am (just a pity that emoticon doesn't have a D on its hat).

I tried mine, never used the key. 58 plate, so not as long as 6 years but it was very tough to turn. Id guess yours might be seized ?

You have to be quite forceful with the key to overcome the deadlock mechanism.
