I had this with my CD70,
A good clean of the laser with a dry cotton bud sorted it... never missed a beat ever since.
If you do need a new laser (unlikely) then refer to this thread.

Or get a cheap cd lens cleaner kit from ebay
lens cleaner cd's alone are almost useless... so yes a proper manual lens cleaning kit will work well.
Usually comprises
a) A long version of cotton buds / q-tips
b) Iso-propyl alcohol solution
c) micro-fibre cloth
