Default Anyone with a Hatchback 1900td please look in here

Hello guys I need some help I'm trying to fine the best Vectra for me to use to tow my track day car but I need a favour

Inside the drivers door there is a weight plate

2 of the weights have a number 1 and 2 next to them, what I'm interested in is the other 2 weights the maximum permissible gross vehical weight and maximum permissible gross train weigh

If someone with a Vectra c 1900 td could check that and also tell me what level of trim they have that would be perfect

Oh needs to be a hatchback as I already have the weights for the estate

    Cherrs rob

The 120 cdti will tow 1400kg the 150 sri / cdti will tow 1500kg.

So the 150bhp will be better for heavier weights if this is what you need to know?

Mine is a 120 looking at caravans plenty of choice.

Thanks for the replys Paul can you confirm that the other number on the plate is 2000kgs ??

Bigtee yeh that's deff good news IF the max permissible weight ofthe car is 2000 with a total train of 3500

The problem can be that the gross train weight is to much so for instance

A estate is gross train 3660 with a max permissible weight of 2160 which means the car can tow 1500 but you cant on a new post 97 licence your limited to 1340

So I'm hoping that they are 2000 and 3500

Not really much choice. The Vectra you have may legally tow 1400kg, but you really are looking at a caravan no heavier than about 1200kg for a confortable tow. Not many as light as that unless you are looking at a small 2 birth. The vectra has a kerb weight of about 1400kg give or take. Legally you can only tow upto 100% of the cars kerb weight. For caravaning it is recommened that you only tow upto 85% of the cars kerb weight.
