Vectra c Tuning (smart?)

I got a gas oil / diesel vectra Z19DTH 150pk / Automatic from 2005 with 195.000km on the counter.

My question is, is it smart to tune this car?

Because i want to optimize the settings and disable the EGR

I don't see why not providing the clutch and gearbox are in good condition. But with that many KM's on I would stay away from the very high power maps.

I read somewhere about some negative experince with a automatic gearbox? Is that true?
