Default Total Vauxhall: CDTi tech assistance required

    Hi chaps

Been sent this question by a reader and we're hoping some of you CDTi owning chaps could shed some light on the situation?

    Dear TV,

I have a Vectra C SRi CDTi 150, when you floor the throttle the engine comes on boost ok but when you hit around 2200 rpm it hesitates briefly before carrying on, this is more exaggerated in the higher gears particularly if coming up from lower revs where the hesitation lasts much longer. The inlet manifold, boost sensor and egr valve are new and I've examined the rubber vacuum pipes for leaks as much as possible, they sound like they are holding vacuum when removed. Is this hesitation normal? Any help greatly appreciated, Cheers.

    Thanks in advance

    Dave

That was along the lines I was thinking, but are there any basic checks to try and pinpoint any of the common faults. On the basis the EML isn't on (I assume) then a code read won't help however data list checks could give some information.

Standard issue "Go to Vauxhall, get it Tech 2 checked" reply coming up I suspect!

Hi, there's been a lot of members with very similar symptoms!, im pretty sure most have been throttle body related!, remove & clean the throttle body & (this is the main fault) remove the clips on the bottom housing gaining access to the elec side, if its filled with oil clean with elec contact spray, there's also a fault within the soldering, I will include the linky & hope this is of some use, Not everyone has fault lights with this! so can be hard to find, regards dek.

As the throttle body is the only thing not done & he's describing hesitation this could be it, dave try searching for hesitation see what pops up! .

Also maybe a third injector (wiring fault) although unlikely, it maybe worth checking out.

Sorted, obviously we can't go into a huge detail in the magazine but a generic reply and then directing Vectra owners this direction and to the "search" fucntion is the route we'll be taking. May cure this chaps issue, may not but either way it'll give the forum a little free plug!
