What still no internet!!!

I don't believe it just logged into my BT account to see when I will get my phone line up and running. The first estimate was tomorrow.

It now says estimated date is the 23/11/10 and with a different phone number to the first one!!!

I am not happy to say the least!!

Is this normal?

I may not be able to reply till I go back to work.

it may be a case that they have their wires crossed (if you pardon the unitended pun) i would suggest you give them a call from work to establish what is happening .... if you were a new customer i could understand the delays - but an existing customer they should be on the ball

Doubt it, when we moved I phoned BT on the Monday the phone was working Tuesday PM and the Internet on the Friday. All new services, not transferred from a previous address though.

BT shocking.. took 6 weeks to figure out my internet connection ... nuggits.

I had an additional line put in and broadband installed when I was staying at my mums whilst she was hospitalized and recuperation and the line was in within 2 days and broadband within 5 days. Give them some stick unfortunately it could be India you are talking to ,they are polite but do not grasp the situation so readily.

When we moved here, BT said house had the original wiring, which wasn't capable of supporting internet usage, and we needed a complete new wire, outside and in.
Engineer came out, said "there's nothing wrong with wiring and it's underground anyway outside, we won't dig the road up for one house" then left. Tried to charge us around £250 for that.

I am sorry to say that I am ashamed about the providers here. When we moved in the apartment it took 32 days for a damn phone line activation ( we had the dial tone and they still tried to make us pay a full activation - 120£) and another 5 working days for the broadband connection. Back home in every town you can get fiber optics and 100 Mb connection. As a person with more than 12 years of IT background( hardware, Internet providers, ip tv etc.) .. it looks like here is the ice age.
Except Virgin covered area....but they have a lot of issues with the customer service.

Speak to spenny he is offering a great deal if you are in a cable area, XL TV package XL phone & 20mb braodband for 33:50 a month... also get 2 tv boxes..... friends & family rates... absolute bargian :-) me very happy

@jimbovectra That would be lovely IF I would live in a cable area now. I did 2 years ago in Redditch..and after speaking with them they even brought the fiber optics in my house with a media convertor. That service was great.

@Happy Girl - that is exactly what they done to me. A second date with a second phone number.
