    Angry HID's Direct - Not impressed

    I recieved my new HID kit from them last Monday. When I fitted it on tuesday one of the bulbs would not fire so the first thing I did was try it on the passenger side and still it didn't work.

    Both bulbs are ok as I checked them on a known working ballast.

    I proceeded to contact HIDs direct via telephone and they said "Sorry about that, send it back and we will send you a replacement". So I went to the post office on the tuesday afternoon and sent the package via special delivery to make sure they got it asap.

    When I knew it was there (via tracking) I e-mailed them to ask if they had received it.....no reply from them. I have also not recieved my new ballast yet and thats a week after sending them the old one.

    They are quick enough to send out a kit after you have bought it but their aftersales leaves alot to be desired....rant over

    They sent me the wrong colour temp when I ordered mine. I didn't bother asking to swap them, though as couldn't be bothered faffing about.

    I hope you get yours sorted soon.

    they never ever sent out the bulb holders that were listed on the kit i purchased last year - just gave up in the end

    You weren't missing much mate, the clips are crap anyway. I bought a set for my last kit from ebay and ended up just cutting my own ones as the replacement ones just collapse

    At the time when I was looking for a HID kit, HID Direct only offered a 1 year warranty, of which you had to incur postage costs to send the kit back to them. I also looked at the positive vs negative comments made about them.

    I ended up buying mine from hids4us- 2 yr warranty, with postage refunded if found to be faulty, and the HID kit cost approx the same as what HID Direct were offering. hids4us were also quick in replying to any email questions I had prior to buying the kit from them.

    I bought mine with no problems also no problems with fitting thought great. Then a few weeks to a month after fitting one side went, i thought what the hells up here checked connections nothing, swaped ballist over and found it was faulty. So rang them and they said send it back and we will send you a new one. So i did and all took about a week. So wasnt ideal but all got sorted, hope you get sorted soon.

    Had no issues at all with them or the kit so far, hence why I recommend them however stories like this are invaluable to others making the move.
