    No problem.

I haven't fully blanked mine. I have the Fiat semi-blanking gasket on.

My Average MPG lately has been around 44.
I used to get around 47mpg.

I am not sure if its the semi-blanking of the EGR or something else.
I have been getting a bit more traffic on the way home now its getting darker and wetter.

As I said in one of the earlier posts,my vectra has done 94k now and although it's an "04",everything is still original.I've not had any serious problems so far, which is probably down to the fact that the previous owner was an older driver and most of his mileage was motorway work.We have had the car three years in February, and have done about 20k but it's all been local and "around town driving",which isn't any good for the 150.
Obviously,I am trying to preserve the inlet manifold from failure, although it will inevitably have to be replaced eventually,I want to try and establish if the blanking process,(semi or otherwise),can help me achieve that aim.
I have already done the ccv modification, but put a catch tank in line instead of venting to atmosphere, and at weekend,I checked the boost sensor and it was dry.Sooty but dry.So I cleaned it and completely blanked off the EGR at both points.
I want to see now if it changes in appearance, and what those changes look like when I check it again. In the meantime,I'm keeping an eye on the fuel consumption and concentrating on trying not driving like a boy racer.FELIXX.

Unlike some, I have actually blanked an EGR on a CDTi. I noticed no difference in MPG whatsoever, I was getting about 40-44 urban, with over 55 on a run before and after blanking it, the MPG was less sometimes before blanking when the EGR was having its "issues".

Power wise it ran the same as a "perfectly" working EGR, which in my case was hardly ever, hence the need for doing it.

    Hope this helps.

I cant comment on you oil burner guys, but I always fined that the cold weather always lowers my MPG. I sit at about 28 in the summer and always around the 24-25 area in the winter in my petrol.

Did you resolve these "issues",and if so,were they with the EGR or something else?.Power wise, mine flies,I mean it really goes.It runs just as well completely blanked as it did with a brand new valve fitted.
As I said earlier, why run with a new valve when I can utilize the old one if it's not going to compromise the fuel efficiency too much?.FELIXX.

Any input with regards to the thread subject would be greatly appreciated.
