Angry Do i need a new hub?

When i changed the brakes the other day i noticed they were only 4 bolts in my wheel. So i changed the brakes and everything and when i came to but the alloy back on, only 3 bolts would go in. The botton 3, so the top 2 have no bolts in at all becuase the thread is just messed up. Do i need a new hub for this as my mot is in about 4 weeks and will defo fail on this. Or can i just get the wholes re tapped/ re threaded.

if i need a new hub wheres the best place to get them from becuase on ebay i cant find any for my car its a 2.0TDI

    Thanks

Firstly, you shouldn't be driving around with only 3 bolts holding your wheels on. The extra stress on them could make them fail as well.

It depends on how badly the threads are damaged. You might get away with running a tap down the threads, or have helicoil inserts fitted.

There must be a few Vec-C's and Signums in the breaker yards by now to source another hub from.

The brake warning light will still be on until you either fit a new wear sensor or cross the 2 wires together that go to the sensor.

I though the hub was the same on every Vectra model / engine combination

First off try getting it re tapped this is very easy to do and a job any garage should be able to do in less than an hour, the hub off a 3.2 should be ok I cant think of any reason it would be different tbh as brake components are interchangeable over the entire vec range, maybe someone knows otherwise.
Was the light on before you did the brakes? When you did the brakes did you change the Brake Pad Sensor wire going to the front near side caliper? If it was on before you did the brakes it means it has to be replaced or removed, they are less than £10 to replace, £7.54 from ECP. Replacing or removing will clear the light.

Be careful tapping them. The bolts will go in afterwards but you have no idea how strong they will be.
