    Default Temperature Guage - 05 CDTi 150

    Hi Guys,

A quick question about the dashboard temperature display guage - What should I expect to see it sitting at?

Basically mine's quite happy to not move when stationary, and when on a journey may go up to 1/3rd of the way occasionally, but mainly at 0 or just very slightly over.

    Any thoughts!?

    Cheers,

    G.

Mine usually sits between 75 and 85. Can go up to 90 in stationary traffic.

Expect it to be low this time of year with the colder weather.

Mine sits about 80-85c... takes a lot to shift it to 90c and above!

    It should sit around 85-86.

You need a new thermostat, it's a common problem.

Takes around 5 miles to get warm, first difference I noticed with a diesel, but it sits there all day

Same as mine - new thermostat fixed it - now stays at 85c and plainly warms up a lot quicker. Later thermostats were modified.

Fairly easy to fit, best to take the battery and battery box out to get easy access - not as bad as it sounds

It should read and act in the same way as every other car you have ever driven. It should get to a temp and stay there no matter what - with in reason, about 5 degrees.

Thanks guys and sorry for the late response on my behalf. Looks like I will have to sort out a new Thermy.

Any ideas on ball park price, supplied & fitted?
