Default Y20DTH 2.0 Dti diesel fuel filter. Help needed.

Planning to carry out service on my car tomorrow but the How 2 that I have seen only dealt with diesel CDTi filter. Problem is the how 2 mentioned two fuel lines and two switches (one each at the top and bottom of filter respectively).
    http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=115582

    Ques 1.
As can be seen from the picture I have attached, are the two fuel lines of a DTi at the top of the filter compared to that of a CDTi?

    Ques 2.
I can't even see a second switch or loom going to the bottom of the filter (just one at the top), does it mean the DTi has only one switch or will I only be able to see the bottom switch after the filter removal?

    Ques 3.

Are the fuel lines on a DTi removed the same way as that of a CDTi. They seem to have different connectors. If not, can someone tell what to use to remove the DTi lines?

    Thanks.

You dont need to remove the lines on the DTI if you just want to replace the filter take out the torx bolt at the top and just lift the lid :-)

CDTi's do have two fuel lines, Inlet and Outlet, going into the top of the fuel filter housing, or at least mine does on 1.9 CDTi 150.

    Ques 2.

Not sure about this one but I have been told that the bottom connector is for a water level sensor(?) to tell when there's too much water in the fuel filter housing.

I see Roswell has answered your main question but I have put some comments above that may answer the others you were asking.

got this one covered lads, DTI has 1 at the top only ,this is a fuel filter heater in cold weather to prevent gelling up.
at the bottom is just a drain screw.
you can lift out the plastic bottle next to the filter for more room , just let it lower till it stops .
dont forget to make sure your filter is full of fuel to the top , then when you start the old girl up keep a few revs on until after a few coughs , just the air in the line passing through. cheers 4 now.

    Default Urgent please!!!

Can someone please confirm that the 2.0 DTi diesel engine oil drain bolt under the car uses a torx rather than a 15mm socket please?

In the middle of changing the oil and filter and I have searched for 15mm socket as mentioned here
http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15115 but could only find a torx. Need to confirm before I tamper with the wrong bit.

    Thanks.

Been working on this since last night. This Torx40 for the drain bolt has refused to untighten.

Guess I am using the wrong handle and not getting a good grip.

The lower pix shows the bit I have been using.

Can someone suggest a good way of getting the bolt off please?

    Thanks

Lad your not going to undo that with a screwdriver!!

Take the bit out the end and fit it into a socket set so you can get some force on it, Then it will undo.
