Replaced alternator but still probs

Good Afternoon,

Please could someone help. I had my alternator re-conditioned due to failure last week. I have re-fitted the re-conditioned unit to my car but battery needed recharging. Recharged battery and reconnected. Started car last nite and all was well. Come to use car this morning and started fine no problems. Reset date and time (due to battery being disconnected). Drove car to local shops. Went about my business and returned and started car. Found clock and date re-set again and the spanner and car light on dash board appearred. Car keeps re-setting and don't understand. Have checked alternator and wiring fitted correctly. All help will be appreciated.

Are you sure you tightened the battery terminals tight enough?

when i replaced mine i had the battery light on for a few day for some reason then it has been ok since, may just take a while for the battery to get a full charge.

Also check your battery connections?

cheers i'l check when i next go to me car. Would the battery not fully charge when done off the car? Could be something to do with the battery maybe?. I noticed that as my alternator was failing that the clock and date display was fading in one corner but that is still the case now but i know battery has charge in it.

You sure the alternator had gone?

That sounds more of a wiring fault than a dodgy alternator

yeah had it tested at a vxl garage the day it went and all that came back as the alternator needed replacing?
