Cambelt change - when?

Got a V6 CDti but not sure when the cambelt (chain?) needs to be changed?

Belt. VX say 100k or 10 years iirc but get it done earlier. 60-80k just to make sure IMO.

Leave it for 90k-100k...It won't snap. It's not a 1.9...

I've a 55-reg 1.9 CDTi 150.... What's the recommended change interval?

I think it's around 60k-70k. But it's recommended to change it sooner because the water pump on the 1.9 can seize and kill your engine.

Thanks Thought so. Mine's got 117k on it, so due very soon I guess

Id go for 70k just for peace of mind, but many have gone upto & beyond the recommended 100k/10yr, As some have found out its usually either the water pump failure or idle roller, & even the tensioner giving up first though.
