    Default Service (spoil her)

    1.8 VVTI
It is nearly time for my yearly service @ about 18000 miles.
So I would have my 20,000 mile service done alittle early.
However I really want to spoil her abit so I am looking to go a bit ott on what I have done/changed/looked after.
I dont want to get vauxhall to just use the standard 20,000 mile service tick boxes.
Could you help me guys with a list of things that would make it the perfect 20k service with the perfect fluids and stuff (only thing I know I do not want is a air filter change due to K&N fitted)

Yes really spoil here and have the oil and filter done every 6 months or 9-10k and this engine will do starship miles.

If this is in warranty they may not fit the k & n only standard filter?

Other than treating it to a wash and polish for winter not much really to do.

Ironically, the major service will suit your requirements, yes tick the boxes
At two years old / 20K miles it is nothing more than check and inspect
    Oil, GM-LL 5W30
    Oil Filter
    Pollen Filter
    Air Filter (every second service)
    Fuel Filter (every second service)

Remove the Air Filter and give it a good bang to clear out any large debris, especially leaves at this time of year

The brake fluid renewal wouldn't be required until three years old, then every second year
You therefore might want to do that

    Visually inspect ALL the brakes
If you don't have the equipment, then book the car in for the measurements of the pads and discs to be taken
The front brake pads should last you to 40K miles, the rear brake pads and discs might not be so lucky

Finally, to protect the body paintwork
    Fit front and rear mudflaps
The paint on the Vectra C is really poor and does not stand up to wear and tear

Ok on your advice I sent a email to Charters Vauxhall Camberley requesting.

    Oil, GM-LL 5W30
    Oil Filter
    Pollen Filter
    Fuel Filter
    Brake fluid renewal
+ all other inspections that would be done on a major service.

I also requested a Trade discount due to club membership.
(I will fit mudflaps and clean K&N myself)

Price that has come back is £273 all in
Is this a good price from a main dealer ?

Seems pricey. Parts are only about £70.

    Hey mate,

I just had a full service done for 40,000 miles, plus brake pads changed all round and 4 wheel alignment done, it came to £427 all in, so I'd say that's not a bad price. I had no discount on that though

Well done, spot on with the parts =£71.91 the extra was 2 clips @ £1.54 and an O ring @ £0.22
I also got a delux service wash and valet foc
They tell me I got a 15% club/trade discount, but it is not on the paperwork.

I tend to think the price is fair I have noticed alot of £400ish major service main dealer posts.
Sure feels to be running nice
