    Default Headlamps fogging up

    Took the car to vauxhall about the headlights fogging up and they said there is nothing they can do because it is not a sealed unit and vauxhall say if they clear in 20 min that is ok so has anyone else had this trouble and what did you do

    the good old silicon gel packs stuffed in there will clear it ..

    I don't want to appear stupid,but where can you get them from?.I've looked on eBay and all I can get up is facial packs or de-humidifiers!!!.FELIXX.

    I actually went into a local shoeshop and asked them for some ...they either come in electrical goods or shoes .....

    How/where did you pack/put them in the headlight,and did you use the normal standard ones (1 grm)?.FELIXX.

    Have you lost the little plastic cover off the back of the light? It must have fallen off mine at some point because it kept fogging up until I picked up another one.

    No,I was fitting a set of HID's the other week,it started raining and I had cut too big a hole in the rubber to take the cable grommet.You can figure the rest,say no more!!.Keithy,kindly sent me a spare set he had,but the damage had been done.The o/s is now ok but the n/s just wont clear.I think I will give it a blast with the wife's hair dryer and see what happens.FELIXX.

    I get them from the chemical cupboard at work We use them in some of our electronic kit.
