    Default rear lower valance

I have had a good search, but can't seem to find out if the xp/vxr style rear lower valance is an add on or a seperate clip on,like on the standard bumpers,i recently bought a bumper with the xp style lower valance on,thinking i would take it off that bumper and get it painted and put it on my bumper, but when it arrived,it is moulded with the bumper itself,do these xp/vxr rear lower valance come seperately as well ?

No i am not sure, maybe someone has had it blended in or something? maybe they do two kits - one in one part the other separately? i am fairly sure people have bought them and retro fitted them.

I just went and checked it again
The outside part (the xp bit) does have movement as if it seperates and lifts away from the complete bumper skin, but there is no join on the inside of the bumper skin, for the upper and lower part of the complete xp style bumper to seperate, but seeing as my original bumper doesn't have an exhaust exit anyway,i'm just going to put the complete newer xp style bumper on my car,my idea was just to unclip the botom part of the newer xp bumper and swap it onto my original standard bumper, but even if i managed to get the outside xp skin off the outside of the newer bumper and bond it onto my original standard bumper,i would still not have the cut out in my original bumper for the middle duffuser panel with the exhaust exit .

The XP part you refer too, is the lowest part you see hear, that wraps around the bottom of the bumper. This goes over the original bumper, so from the inside, you will not see a big join. Hope this pic helps too.

As big sig said, being blended and filled in would look fab, maybe someone did that ?

Thankyou Mark, thats a very good explaination and thankyou for the picture too
Could you tell me how the lower xp part is held on to the bumper,i did have a bit of a pull on it,but didn't want to break anything
And will the xp part only fit on an sri bumper ? or will it fit a standard bumper that is without the lower black insert with the exhaust outlet hole ?
And looking at your picture, mine looks the same,so its not blended in,its just that i can't see a join on the back of the bumper skin, between the upper and lower xp part of the bumper.

No probs, if its a genuine part which it probably is 99.9% going to be, then not only will it be bonded on with some form of tigerseal, but it will also have some very strong adhesive tape which holds it in place whilst the bond sets.
I have fitted these and can say the tape alone is very good and will be hard to get off !!

Ok, it will fit an SRi bumper fine, mine above is an SRi. It will fit others without the black bit but you would have to cut the middle out, and bond in the centre black plastic bit. Pretty sure that some wont though. I think this is an example of one, that it will not fit...

Oh, and if fitted from new, which you suspect - the XP trim will have a very snug fit which will explain why it looks like one piece lol

    Hope this helps you !!
