i dont think its a question for a public forum, publically posting on the internet how to get to an alarm, is good instructions for possible thieves, as all these threads show in google searches with key words, best if someone private messages the requested information

If any one does have any information they can pass on to Bangty1 about his alarm. Please PM him with any relivent information. Or if you are attending the Cosford meet on Sunday the 7th Nov, you could talk to him in person. Cheers.

The sounder is easy to get to from the boot area, just open the left hand panel and there it is. What more do you need? I don't think that bit of info is secret or anything or will help a thieve. It is common knowledge on here.

You don't have to remove anything to get to it, it is just there in front of your....

I think the point was, if you publicise the easiest or quickest way to get to it, it could help thieves quickly disable it.
Back in the late 1970's/ear;y80's, when alarms weren't common, I used to fit one to any car I had with one, making sure you couldn't get to it, or the wiring through the grill of from under the car.
Technology is a lot better now, but still doesn't pay to give thieves any help.

The whole secrecy about the position and access to the alarm sounder is pointless, as stated above.

If they are in the car, what are they going to do? They won't be able to hotwire it and nick it. If anything they will reach into glove box etc to get what they can, after smashing the window. Deadlocks will mean they have to climb in through the smashed window too.
Disconnecting the sounder will only mean the horn goes off anyway - so of dubious benefit. Maybe an improvement as the sounder isn't very loud at all on the outside of the vehicle.

I have disconnected the sounder, as it is pretty useless and it defaults to using the horn without issues on mine. Some people report this is not the case on their car though.

Anyway, I don't know what access is like in a Signum, but for a Vec there is plenty of space to get to the securing bolts for the sounder mounting bracket without removing anything else other than the boot side panel.

Some do and some don't. I haven't been able to get to the bottom of why this is. Mine didn't and just sounds the horn now. The plug was a bit of a PITA to get to, so I just unbolted the mounting bracket and sounder complete, unplugged and refitted it so it doesn't get lost.
