Default How much and is this possible

How much would a dealer offer me for my Elite?

54 Plate, 30K miles. It would be as near standard as possible with 17’s, plastic skirts, no irmscher spoiler, grill or mirror covers, and I’d take off the steinmetz roof spoiler and hope the rear window would clean up from dried ‘no nails’. (I think it would be ok with a scalpel blade?)

It would be left with Sri springs, chrome door handles and VXR rear spoiler.

Basically I want to go to a dealer, not a main dealer, and ‘swap’ my car.I want a large quality estate car, something like a 5 series, A4 Avant or a V70 for the same money as my vec Is worth. I appreciate it would be ex company with a fair few miles on etc but im playing on the fact that it will be worth more than vec will in 3 years. Do they do this kind of deal if they benefit?

Jeez, didn`t expect you to part with the Vec so soon Andy, Would you consider a Vec estate or do you fancy a change ? The amount you get offered will vary hugely dependant on what you are looking at, I was offered between 5-7k for mine, cost to change is what is important and if you want a free swap the dealer will be looking at making some cash on yours so you will need to take a step back i would think ?

thats about what i was expecting Mickey, £9K PX based on dealers still flogging the 1.9cdti high spec models for £10K.

The cars i could get would be say an 02 5 series with 80K or A4/V70 etc same sort of age/mileage.

Ive had 2 vec C's now so fancy something diiferent, even though i do like the look of the C estate. If i cant get a good enough deal then i wont change ie the dealers take the p!ss. We want to go camping more often and after the struggle at Billing where we filled every gap i think our vectra isnt big enough (which suprised me as its huge lol)

The Vec C Esate is larger than most others (if not all) of anything in, or near, it's class - if that's any persuasion!

What about the Vec VXR Estate!!

Your just getting plain greedy now Andy, jeez you want to try putting something in a sporthatch *lol*, I think you will struggle to get 9k on a 9k car, reckon you will be looking nearer 8 unless you put some cash up ..

    too expensive or i would.....

Carol doesnt want to swap at all as she likes the vectra so whatever deal would be zero cash from me and downward step in age/milage of the new car.

I did think about a vectra estate as ive more chance getting a newer model but that would be 3 vectra's in 4 years lol

Andy, get yourself a roof box. It only needs fitting when you require the extra space, and you can keep your 'bling' elite. In my opinion you'd lose too much in a straight swap and a dealer would only give you a fair deal if he already had a buyer for an Elite Vec C in Green.

If you want I can put you in touch with my best mate. He works at Pentagon Vauxhall in Oldham and has just sorted out a cracking deal for Andyvec. He's the Business Manager for the Network Q side of the dealership, and in my opinion he'll give you the best deal on yours. However, he'll need to see your car in the flesh before giving you a price for yours.

The thing to consider is that a high mileage 5 series etc is likely to need new shocks, bushes and other 'wear and tear'components. I doubt that would be cheap! And only an after market warranty as well.

I'm a big fan of the 5 Series, but the sway of a 'nearly new' Vec with a lot of warranty swayed my decision when I bought mine.

Have a look on the Honest John website. There's a long thread about buying a 5 series running at the Mo.
