Chain Inspection

Chain tensioner? If you've ever pulled up at the lights next to a 3 pot Corsa you'll know allllllll about the rattle they have if the tensioner is on the way out. They work on a spring if I remember correctly. Could be it's sticking and not moving properly?

Did they check both chains mate and also did they look at the main chain tensioner? There is a fault with the directs tensioner. VX have now phased it out and use a different one when they replace them.

Dunno what they checked mate , i did mention the chain and tensioner, and he said he knew about the tensioner issues, and thats the first thing he checked, so maybe Vx will have a look on tuesday and if they come back the same then thats fine, if not

When mine was playing up it sounded like THIS. Only did it when the engine wasn't hot or cold, so say 2 hours after last start up. After a few seconds though all goes quite. The exhaust manifolds have been known to crack and that can also make them sound a bit Farmer Gilles.
