    Default Damn Vectra

Ok, last few days i have noticed slight jerking at idle, sluggishness, and a drop in mpg from 45.4 - 43.4 ok not a big drop but this is the lowest mpg i have returned since owning the car, feel like there is a bigger lag before turbo kicks in as well, anyone any suggestions, off rest of week, so time to have a muck about, inletmanifold/dmf have been changed in the last 6 months, but not 100 % sure the egr was changed, can i phone uncle arnold and ask about job sheet. Also car rarely reaches 80-85 degrees and when heating is turned on quickly drops to around 70 degrees, new airfilter was installed last month and airbox mod has been done. Honestly getting sick of the problems, might trade her in.

Sounds like the EGR valve to me. If it went in for the manifold then imo they won't have changed the EGR valve.

I would phone and ask if the EGR was changed it could be that for the power issue. Your diesel engine wont heat up to the temps you are used to as the winter draws in, diesels runs colder than petrols. You will also notice it takes longer for the heater to heat up in the morning lol.

Sounds like an EGR problem, sadly getting fed up of a 1.9 is a common issue...

IF Temp drops to 70 with heater fan on your stat/temp sender is faulty, this will cause a drop in performance and poor mpg, when the stat stuck open on mine mpg droped 6 mpg. but its a petrol.

this time last year I NOTICED a drop in performance from my 1.8, then realised the temp guage would go up to 80 in traffic but drop on the open road to 70 which where it starts, the fuel,,, also a drop in mpg, As soon as I did the stat/ temp sender, all back to normal it now runs on 87 degrees and power back to normal, and good mpg. someone did explain why a power loss when running with a faulty stat but I forgot why rgds,, ANT.
