    Default Useless boot light!

    Hello all.

When I got the Vec, the boot light didn't work at all, I pulled the bulb holder out to discover it wasn't connected. After a bit of fishing around behind the panel I got hold of the wiring and plugged it in and it worked. However now the winter is here, I've noticed the light is terribly dim, it's like lighting a tealight in a cave. Have people got any recomendations for a decent bulb to put in there that will actually light up the boot space?

    Cheers.

nope but do what i did and a couple of others and add led strips to either side of the plastic parcel self part (underneath). Best mod ever!

Ah okay, remember seeing some threads about people doing that just wasn't sure how they wired them in. Am I looking for any specific kind of light strip?

Just wire them into the original supply

If they are leds they will take less current than the standard bulb so the wire will be more than capable

Right I'll order some off Ebay when I can then. Decided I might aswell just replace the bulbs in the interior light in the front too. Look nice if it all matches.

I fitted a pair of these a while back. Made a huge difference, even after a few of the LEDs have since failed in one of the units.

I just retrofitted another VX festoon bulb holder to the right side of the boot, took the feed directly off the original one, makes all the difference. replace the origional bulb with an LED one should improve things too.
