    Angry Fault code on Vectra

    All,

I have a 1.9 CDTI and noticed this morning that the trip in Diagnostic mode gave the value and this is a static value i.e. does not change so I assume a stored fault code:-

    STORE:- 0100 0000000008

Does anyone know what this is? The STORE value was all zeroes a couple of weeks ago. This change does however coincide with strong exhaust fumes eminating from under the bonnet and filling the interior when sitting idling. I will check at weekend with my handheld code reader but me think this can be the start of much expense. Damm.
I will also go to an exhaust outfit and ask if they could check the front flexi pipe but I doubt that is the cause as I can hear no exhaust blowing noises.
Inlet manifold is original from 2004. ooh dear.

    Vehicle : Jaguar XF 3.0D V6

    Engine : 3.0D V6

I don't know how you have got that number, what is 'diagnostic mode'?

But anyway, if the 0100 is a fault code then it is

P0100 Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit Malfunction

    Thanks.

There is a thread on this site I saw a couple of years back on how to get into the Diagnostic mode. Basically, I have a trip and a CD30 (I think). If I have the radio on and press the BC button (I think it is BC but it is the button on top RH of volume dial) and keep it pressed for about twenty seconds, you hear a beep, that is you now in diagnostic mode. You can then traverse through a number of screens by using the scroll button (again I think on the steering).

If its the cdti 150, strong fumes while standing or moving slow!, Inlet manifold failure would be the first place to look.
