Default Got my Insignia VXR. A couple of pics & Q's

    Here it is.
    8000 miles on the clock
Ex-demonstrator, only previous owner was Vauxhall
    First registered Jan 2010

    Ok, a couple of questions.

    1) I bought it from a Vauxhall dealer over 100 miles away. If I find any problems can I just go to my local one & have them sort it under warranty?

    2) I've found a small stone chip on the rear passenger door. Can this be touched up under warranty? If so, at my local dealer?

    3) Reading on here about recalls, I want everything to be in perfect condition, is it worth popping to my local dealer for them to make sure any recalls for anything insignia related has been fixed? If not will they fix it free under warranty?

    4) After managing 36mpg on the motorway back home last week after collecting it I have only managed 22mpg average around town. £80 petrol takes me barely to 300 miles... Is it possible to do better?

I've got to say. Its the best car i've ever owned!
Oh & this is my first post.

    1. Yes, your local dealer should sort you out

    2. Doubt it. If you had pointed it out before purchase they might have sorted it for you.

    3. Dont know

    4. Dont press so hard with your right foot!

Lovely car mate... I hope you enjoy all it has to give!!

Very Nice they wont look at the chip under warranty, best getting someone like chips away to deal with that.

    hi and welcome

) I bought it from a Vauxhall dealer over 100 miles away. If I find any problems can I just go to my local one & have them sort it under warranty?

yep the warranty can be completed by any vx garage
    2) I've found a small stone chip on the rear passenger door. Can this be touched up under warranty? If so, at my local dealer?
a smart repair will mask the problem - but warranty only covers genuine manufacturing defects - not stone chips

    3) Reading on here about recalls, I want everything to be in perfect condition, is it worth popping to my local dealer for them to make sure any recalls for anything insignia related has been fixed? If not will they fix it free under warranty?
as part of the pre sales checks the garage SHOULD have completed any outstanding recall checks

    4) After managing 36mpg on the motorway back home last week after collecting it I have only managed 22mpg average around town. £80 petrol takes me barely to 300 miles... Is it possible to do better?

driving around town requires lots of stopping and starting ...this is when your engine is under the greatest load and uses the most fuel when pulling away - if you can optimise your route to and from work with the least stops (your fuel figures are not dicsimilar to mine)....you might even find that a longer route with less stops gives you a better fuel return ....also any excuse to take it for a nice drive

0-Large smile ......every time it's driven
