I've had mine replaced when i had the alternator replaced as there was a wee bit excessive play in it. I didnt want the outer piece flying upwards at high revs and sawing through the air con pipes etc.. My friend who is a mech advised me to het it replaced but hadnt came across the one on my 1.9.. It appeared to be held on with four small bolts, but when i got the new one back it had only one large bolt in the centre.. Mine looked like the rubber insert was coming away when you put pressure on it, but i cant see how that is clicking on your car
