    Default DTI servicing

    Hello

I am going to give my Veccy a service this weekend, whats the oil most use in a diesel. As I want to get it right, the car is on 77792 and the dealer (apparently) serviced it at 77062, but the pollen/air filters are manky, so I do not really trust it.

    Also

Euro car parts state the below as correct items via reg search

    Air Filter

    http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Va...22c1bd5de&AIRF

    Pollen Filter

    http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Va...c131dc0b9&CBNF

    Fuel Filter

    http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Va...bafd54357&FUEF

    Oil Filter

    http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Va...685fedfdb&OILF

I know the air/pollen filter look right, but I have never seen the Oil/Fuel ones before. Also what else would advise/recommend changing.

    Thanks

    Dave

I think they are the correct ones, the oil filter looks right although the diesel filter that VX fit is a completly different design to that one. I'd buy the diesel filter from VX as it's a pretty unusual pleat design

Recommended oil for al Vx is 5W30 fully synthetic for post 2002 and 10W40 for pre 2002 cars.
So 5W30 however if you are doing regular oil changes (6mths/10K) then 10W40 semi synthetic is also ok

Thanks for all your input, Think it might be best to get everything from a VX dealers, least then I will know everything is the right part.

    £11.40 Pollen Filter

I went to the dealer for all of my stuff, at least that way you know it's the correct stuff and the correct specification for the car

Vx prices aren't to bad. The air filter is actually slightly dearer to buy from Halfords!!

Good price for the oil the retail is about £45.

you should be able to half that price by looking on ebay!, there's sellers that do genuine filters at great prices.
