Default Want to Replace Front Passenger Wing on Vectra C

    Hi folks

How easy is it to change a front passenger wing on a 2003 Vectra C? If anyone can point me in the right direction for instructions etc that would be great. I'm assuming I just need to remove light unit, trim covering bottom bolts, arch liner etc or do I need to remove anything else?

Also, I'm hoping to just buy a 2nd hand one in the right colour (silver) to avoid paying for paintwork. Is there different shades of silver or is there just one for that model? If someone knows of a good place to go to for body parts or of anyone breaking a silver one let me know- thanks! :-)

    Vehicle : Jaguar XF 3.0D V6

    Trim : Black

There are several shades of silver. Look for the plate on the B pillar of the drivers door opening and look for the colour code. eg 2AU, to get a 'perfect' match with the donar car colour.

Wing removal shouldn't be particularly difficult, it looks pretty straight forwards in TIS

Ive read that 2002-05 all have the same shade of silver? Is that not true then?

Anyone know a good place to get bodyparts?

More than likely Star silver 3 which is 2au, Lightning Silver is more of a blue/silver colour if I remember right. As Ste says check the plate on the B pillar for the correct one. If it is the 2au code you'll be in luck, I think every other vec c i see on the road is star silver 3. Check your local breakers or ebay. Trouble with ebay is your unlikey to have any come back for a panel damaged in transit.

Its star silver 3 that sounds promising :-)

Ive been trying breakers and eBay but noone seems to have a silver one which I'm surprised at since as you say virtually 99% of the cars seem to be silver nowadays!

If anyone comes across one let me know.

Anyone got any advice on the actual job itself? (or links to instructions)

Had a look but cant see the thread, im sure he posted a pix of removing the front wing, but i'll stick my neck out and say yes its bumper off and the side skirt, if not fully removed then partially removed, then should just be about a dozen bolts to remove it.

It is in the HowTo-section, the pre-facelift to facelift conversion:
    http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=101927

I replaced a front wing last summer on mine (Facelift version), and it is front bumper off, sideskirt loosend in the front, then the wing can be unmounted.
A bit of fiddling/adjustments to get the new wing align up with the bonnet/side of the car, but with patience it is rather easy.
