Default Car speakers - 3.5mm audio jack?

Can you get car speakers to conect to a 3.5mm audio jack?

The reason I ask - just purchased a signum (will post pics when i pic it up). Has sat nav and 4 disc changer (not sure about the model).

Need an mp3 player - and I have one on my phone (samsung galaxy s) now this is better than most stereos, has own sat nav, mp3, touch screen ect but how (other than through a stereo) can i use it to connect to the car speakers?

Is it possible or is it a pipe dream?????

the power output from the phone wouldnt be able to power the speakers i dont think your best bet would be a 3.5mm to phono (or whatever) adapter and then some form of amplifier to actually drive the speakers have a butchers on the maplins website got all kinds of adapter and electronic boxes of tricks if you wanna keep it small or want to connect then to a normal car amp. or you could fit a stereo or find out about adapting your current one for an aux in line

Sorry for posting in the gallery section

Never thought about the power issue!!!!!!! Very good point.

On the phone I can connect it to left right audio and video out. So an amp / standard stereo would be best.

I was just thinking my phone was better than most steros and why cant i use it as my car one.............................

Oh well - back to thinking!

    Thanks for your help

    Steve
