Default RHD to LHD headlamp adjustment

Should the adjustment lever be up or down for RHD UK driving, cant seem to find an answer anywhere lol

    Ummmmmm can't remember.

I THINK its up on one and down on t'other!!

Best way is to get someone to stand in the headlamp aim and flick the lever to see if the shutter comes down.

    For driving abroad:

    N/S = lever goes up
    O/S = lever goes down

if youre talking about the levers which give the 'kick up' on the nearside part of each headlight beam, i would say that both 'kick ups' should be up when driving in the UK & down when driving in europe.

remember to return them to the UK setting before you take it for its MOT, or else it will fail! saw this recently on a MOT failure report at the workshop where i work!

well, both my 'kick ups' are set to up on my prefacelift, which i am assuming the OP has.

the MOT failure report i saw recently clearly stated that one of the 'kick ups' on the failed car was missing, hence the failure. surely the MOT tester couldnt be wrong, unless theyre working for Kwik-Fit LOL

I think you've slightly misunderstood the question of the OP.

We realise that both lights must have the "kick-up" but it is the lever position which controls the kick-up which the OP is asking about.

One side the lever must be in the up position, and the other must be in the down position. In this state both lights will have the kick-up

thats how i did mine, watching the beam pattern while flicking the levers. i have absolutely no idea which is up or down, so assumed mine were both up due to the presence of the 'kick up'.
