    p1700

can anyone point me in the right direction as what to do next.
do i take it to my local auto expert?.

    cheers mark.

    Find the passcard
Disconnect the battery for at least one hour
    Recheck for error codes
    Start engine
    Recheck for error codes

Contains all the lock codes and radio codes; you will require this to reset the stereo, otherwise it will be locked on reconnecting the battery

the chap who gave me the codes told me what they all where but that still does'nt tell me nothing.

where do i go from here, is it a gearbox expert or do i try the battery off for an hour job & hope it does something?.

    i do have the passcard.

is it just the radio which will need reseting?.

    cheers mark.

    Yes, just the radio.

It may be that the gear selector is giving odd signals to the gearbox ECU (hence P0705), maybe a loose connector or dirty sensor?

I would also check the fluid level - can cause a lot of 'false' issues.

It may only be the p0705 code that is triggering the rest.
