Default Auto dimming rear view mirror

I have put the auto dimming rear view mirror in today using a wiring loom from a car in the breakers yard, do I need to get it tech 2'd before it will work?

It should just work... mine did. Do you have the little orange light on the bottom of the mirror? That will be a good indication, or just shine a bright light in to the sensor when its dark

There is a light on from the bottom of it, and it does dim if you put the interior light on, found that out after posting this thread, but if I put it in reverse or open the door it still stays dimmed, I thought it should cancel it?

How did you wire it in?

and for those functions you will need tech2 if you used oem wiring.

I used the GM loom from a car in the breakers yard, it is a genuine one. So I need to find some-one in the midlands area who will tech 2 it for a reasonable amount.
    Thanks guys
