Default Brake problem on my coupe (sorry....!)

    Hi guys

My car went in for 1st service today. I asked them to look at the brakes in particular because to me, they are quite un-responsive, and seem to work well on some days and do nothing on other days.

They’ve come back saying they can’t find fault, and the pads still half plenty on them.

Is there anything else I should be asking them to check (because these people do seem to need telling sometimes eh??)

    Any advice appreciated.

    Rob

    Roberto!

    How's it hanging fella?

Can't really help you with you problem except maybe suggesting getting them to check the master cylinder or maybe the system has an air lock in it?

Anyhoo, nice to see you on bud, shame we never got round to sorting them mats out

My coupe doesnt really bite as such, but is very progressive on the pedal. so long as I push hard enough, and it doesnt take that much, just a bit more than my vec (which bites as soon as i touch the pedal), it brakes very well - is yours the same?

    Watcha Keefbo....

Ian.. I am really having to step on it hard to brake hard - that may sound funny but to put it in context after two solid days driving last week I had muscle strain in my right leg!

Sounds to me like the pads have been baked and have glazed over what i would do is just to replace the front pads anyway for what they cost might be worth upgrading the pads to some performance ones at the same time normal quick fix is take the pads out and de-glaze them on some emery paper ie rough them up again HTH

P.S good to see you back Rob m8

    Back in a V6 !!!!!!!!!!!! And lovin it !!!

Cheers Chris. If I ring the dealer now are they likely to give them a rub for me, or is that not something they are likely to do? I don't mind, its just whilst they have their hands dirty they may aswell carry on! What do you think?
