    Default clocks go backwards 1 hr sun 31 oct

    i hate the clocks going back. when i work 6am to 6pm no day light left to do anything but xmas is getting close CHECK ALL YOUR LIGHTS

    clocks going backwards/forwards is just such a rediculous thing really... From what I understand and read, apparently we only do it because people up north like it to get daylight earlier in the morning during winter.. ???

    In Scotland our night is longer in the winter than down in England, as we are nearer the North Pole, and in Summer our daytime is longer as well.

    Correct, so that school children arrive at school (08:45) in lighter conditions in order to lower accident rates

    There's always a big debate about the clocks going back every year
    Most people in north scotland, as said, will want the clocks back. Especially farmers. The different time zones may work if only they'd try it.
    Only thing, some businesses might lose money if there are different time zones.
    Keeping BST would save 100 lives a year that are lost on the road, and save loads of energy.

    No brainer for me. Keep BST through the winter months in England and Wales! Enough of the madness!
