    Default WIll these alloys fit?

I have been thinking about adding some alloys to my vectra as i only got steel ones when i bought it last year and have been offered some 17'' for only £100 with tyres they are ripspeed and the size is 205/40/17. will these fit my vectra as i am not that clued up on alloy's??.

The one's i have on there at the moment are 215/55/16 and have been told that the alloy's that are available are a 5 stud universal fit.

    Help please.

Your gonna need to find out the offset, the PCD (i.e 5x110mm as the Vectra is) also the centre bore size as well.
Profile of the tyre is too small, you need either 50 or 45 profile on 17's.

You need to know the stud pattern you are after 5 x 110mm pitch and an offset of about 39>45mm on a 17" rim the tyre size you need is 215/50 x 17 (or 225/45 x 17) the size you describe sounds like those off a Vectra B and will severely upset the gearing and speedo reading. a 205/40 will be too small a rolling diameter I am sorry to say

You need four new tyres, if and it's a big if the bolt mounting centres is correct and the centre hub is the correct size as well.

so buying them blind would be a major expensive risk

Spacers would not really help in this,
