I'm doing a half Marathon!!!!!!

I have just signed myself up to do the Brentwood half marathon on 20 March 2011.

The reason for this is that our daughter was born with a rare genetic condition called Turner Syndrome.

I will be running on behalf of the Turner Syndrome Support Society, which helps with support and help for families dealing with Turners.

They are a registered charity and are trying to do great work. I am trying to raise money and awareness for the charity.

If you would be so kind to sponsor me for running this half marathon and support this worthy cause, it would mean so much to me and my family!!!

Turner's, lack of an X-Chromosome, about 1 in 2500 female babies have this. A work colleague of my wife is a Turner female. What age is your daughter? I will look to sponsor you next month. Be grateful if you could PM me to remind me in a months time.

My daughter is only 9 weeks old and doing really well.
This condition is not very well known, so would be great to raise some awareness as well as the money.

No problem, I hope your daughter continues to do well. A bit like Down's how much the child is effected varies greatly. My wife's colleague has the typical look, ie webbed neck, but other than that as a normal IQ etc. The majority of foetus's with Turner Syndrom never make it to birth (you probably already have, but if you haven't googled it I advise you not to, as there are some unpleasent photos of misccaried Turner foetuses on the web. Going by the photo on your sponsorship link it would look to me like your daughter is at the less effected end of the spectrum.
