    Default Tuning box clutch issues

Just sold my 53 Gsi and decided to go for a 54 SRi CDTi 150bhp.

I've been looking at DTUK and the gains to be had.

I believe 206bhp and 320lbs torque are acheivable but as this is a massive hike in the torque, do the clutches cope with this for any length of time?

I've tuned many Imprezas and upped the torque by 100lbs and the clutches only lasted a matter of weeks.

I have a auto which seems to handles anything you want to through at it but then with it being a auto the DPF can give trouble. I would of thought as long as you are sensible on how you use the power increase you should be ok but maybe not get the normal wear rate. Lots of folk have these boxes so they cant be that bad

cluthes so i have heard can handle upto around 300-350lbs max before any slipping starts, so 300 should be ok, anymore and personally i would upgrade clutch

I think that it's all down to the individual clutch. Some slip with standard power and some are fine when tuned. Obviously the less wear the clutch has the better it will be. And then, of course, there's the DMF to consider.
