doesn't sound too bad m8. It's a heavy car and town driving won't do the mpg any favours tbh. It's all the traffic lights and stop/start in Greenock which is the issue tbh.

How are you calculating the mpg?

Fuel computer (which isn't always accurate)

    or

Brimming the tank, driving some miles, brimming the tank once more and getting the calculator out (more accurate - providing you've entered the correct values into the calculator)

I take it that's the 140 bhp vvti model? Would still expect more than 23 mpg around town though.

some computers are miles out, as DAVE said brim the tank, set mile trip to 000000 do a normal drive/ milage say 300/350 then brim the tank, in your area around town I would expect about 28/32 out of my 1.8.

ps, I had been getting high 30s low 40s out of mine but as soon as the temp has droped, (I live 147 mtrs above sea level) and have had minus 5 several times recently, my mpg has droped quite a lot.
