    Default Injectors replacement

    Ive been told by my mechanic that my injectors are all worn and have become a little noisy but are all operating correctly.

    He has said dont rush to replace as a few taxis hes worked on have done 100,000 miles + since having them diagnosed.
    He has also said its the solenoid inside the injector that will be worn, and no amount of injector cleaner or servicing of the injectors will quieten them down?

    Is this true, should i leave these until it becomes affordable?

    He is correct.

    The return springs go weak I think.

    what type of noise do they make? is it like a tappet out of adjustment noise?

    just leave them if you can, heard some horror stories about injectors not wanting to come out the head at times on the cdti

    Its almost like a metallic sort of tapping, most noticeable at low revs when the rest of the engine is fairly quiet.
    No performace issues as yet.

    Is it safe to leave these and just turn the stereo up to drown out the noise?

    Have found some bosch ones for the Z19 DTH engine at #90.00 a pop.
    Initially quoted #180.00 each so looking much better.

    Any one had experience of these?

    Take a trip down to Powerdrive as they are great with diesels and will tell you what the noise is. We use them when we have diesel problems at the garage I work at that we cant fix lol.

    Personally, if you have no performance issues, i would leave them for now. I.m sure mine has a couple of noisey ones too, i have a similar tapping on my 1.9 DT and as you said more noticeable at low revs, mine is up to about 1800, then not realy noticable.
