    Default FIlter package

    Hi all

Ive recently purchased from ebay a set of OE filters for £17.50 (fuel, air and oil). They are FIL filters the oil filter has GM printed on it but it seems to be a little on the short side (only from memory), I fitted a genuine filter a couple of months which seemed to be an inch or two longer than the one ive just bought. will this cause me any problems if a use it? Thanks for any help!

I have brought these for other cars, sounds like same seller, there ''i think'' like a shorter term service filter, they do the metal spin on ones for other cars aswell & there also shorter. it can be false economy i suppose if you change your oil once a year, you may aswell have a good quality one.

    Hi Wally
it's a big mistake cutting back on oil and filters, as Wizard says once a year do the job well it's false economy

Thank you for your replys, i see your point(s). I only really bought the kit for the fuel filter as it is sooo expensive from the dealer (£25+vat for the element or £125+vat for the whole canister). I dont mean to tone down but the dosh situation as many other people are probably finding is not readilly available, Whining over with, i dont know what the fuel filter should look like but do you reckon the item ive got will tyde me over for 12months?

If you have white felt type diesel filter (uci)/ (ufi) in a blue plastic container you shouldn't realy touch it with the human hand! as it says on the container!, this type you can put in 'dry', then when your'e done turn the key on without starting, leave for 5 seconds or so, repeat this three or four times, this will fill the canister electronically,

For future reference, I changed my fuel filter not long back with one I bought from NPA Motor Factors for around £10 for the filter only.
