    Default rear wiper arm

    On way home tonight wiper stopped halfway, it's only done this once before, when i parked at house, i nudged it and it moved freely, what do you guys think wiper motor on way out.

    Mines does the same now and then, could be a dodgy controller.

    how does it attach is it bolted on with the plastic cover on top

    There are two common causes - I can't remember which one causes which symptoms - it's either a brass earth point that's worn through in the motor housing, or (more likely) the connecting rod under the scuttle has popped off. Either pop it back on and use a cable tie to keep in on, or replace it with this improved design:

    EDIT: Ignore me - just noticed you're referring to the rear wiper, not the fronts.

    or it could be the relay which is on the way out... either way check the cheapest thing first lol! failing that - guess who has a spare motor if you need it

    If you have had it running while you have been driving its probably the motor thats burned out.

    Not quite sure of the set up on the vectra but i had the same with my motor and it was the spindle/shaft what ever you want to call it becoming corroded below the rubber seal all i did was prized back the seal put some grease in and hey presto ...try the simple things before you try the complicated ones
