    Default whats the best lacquer??

    what do people find is the best im painting engine plastics but halfords lacquer seems to give me a matt finish anyone suggest a method to achieve a good shiny smooth finish or any good lacquers?

    a clear one lol what you want paintin m8 i no a sprayer mite be able to do it cheaper then you buying all the stuff...just fort id say but id say with everything if its cheap paint it will have a cheap look thats what i found out pay for what you get

    Are you using a cutting compound afterwards?

    Farecla G3 (ebay). Let the lacquer harden for a week or two, then apply the cutting compound and polish it with a machine mop or mop attachment for a drill. Without the cutting compound, the paint (whether lacquer or colour coat) will always feel rough to the touch.

    ok so is it best to put a layer off lacquer whilst the coloured coat as tacky? and is it best to let each lacquer coat dry before adding another coat or add coats whilst the lacquer is still wet?

    I always laquer 10 15 mins after last colour coat goes on...
