Default Looking to buy a CDTI - confused??????

Looking for either a signum or a vectra 1.9 cdti - budget £2800.

I have looked at three now all advertised as 120 model but have the red TI in the cdti - does this mean they are the 150 bhp model?

Has anyone got a piccy of the engine of the 120 and the 150?

Very confused, i hate buying cars.

    Thanks

    Steve

Is the 120 on the left then?

This is what i thought but just seen a signum with the oil filler doen the middle on the right hand side of the engine. But on the log book it says its a 120? But has the red TI?????

Its also had a loud rattle when revved...............

    Ooops just found this sorry.

So why is it a 120 on the log book? Is this legal?

The 120 has it on the left yes. The Red TI can't be relied upon, along with the log book. However your car may be a 120 as some astra 120's instead of having an 8V CDTI (Which is the one with the oil cap on the left) they had the 16V units (oil cap on the right) which were 'de-tuned' 150's to drive like 120's. You may very well have a 120 but the tuning potential of a 150.

I wouldn't take notice too much of the rear badge, someone could easily change them, first pic oil filler cap on the left= 120, 2nd pic oil filler on the right=150, the 120 are less troublesome & you can always remap, I have have a 150 thats not been to bad but its the luck of the draw.

Oil filler on right and red Ti should mean 150 engine, loud rattle doesn't sound good.

As for the rattle, if it appears when the clutch is pressed to biting point while the gears are in neutral, then the Duel Mass Flywheel may be on its way.
