this is regarding the terrible standard low beam on vectra c,1.8 sxi,
on offer are `halfords super brilliance blue bulb` @ £22.99, has anyone got them in or used them? if so are they worth buying.

I'm not sure if they're the same but I have the Halfords Extreme Brilliance (I think) bulbs in mine and they're better than standard but still not a patch on a H.I.D kit. Then again for that price, can't complain.

I think you mean the HID upgrade, there was a thread on recently about the alternative, check my recent posts. Duncan's mod to raise beam, then fit better bulbs. I've used the Hallfords ones in previous car and found them good, the "brilliant" ones in main/dip and the all weather ones in fogs.

I put the Phillips eXtreme bulbs in Main/Dipped and Fog. 100 times better than the std bulbs and have had these bulbs in every car I have had. Wouldn't use anything else.

Recently fitted Hellfarts Extreme Brilliance bulbs, on BOGOF offer About £25 IIRC.

I think them using the word 'Brilliance' should be reported to Trading standards! Absolute rubbish.

Ordering from HID Direct as we speak..............
