    Default Dipped Beam Headlight fitment

Ok this is actually embarassing. I fitted new bulbs to my headlights the other night before I drove nearly 200 miles to my workplace.

I quickly realised that I had knocked out the allignment but the increase in illumination meant that I could still see fine on the back roads.

Today I got out my 6mm allen key to adjust them but I just could not get the nearside bulb (nearest the screenwash bottle) set right. It was miles off.

In the end I pulled the bulb out and put it back but I cant seem to get it to fit snugly against the housing

I have turned it every which way, and engaged the lug where it appears to go but it still pops out slightly and doesnt sit flush

What am i doing wrong? Problem is I simply cant see what i am doing!

Some pics of the hole so I can visualise it would be great.

    cheers
    bv

It is tricky try borrowing a mirror off the missus as you can see the lugs they are approx ar the 7pm position and you are right if you do not locate them correctly it throws the beam right off the scale.

could'nt really see the lugs just felt for them,

there is what appears to be a metal bar going across the corner of the opening but i couldnt figure out it's purpose, i'll have another try tomorrow.

btw , the missus and her mirror are still 200 miles away.

I will fashion something suitable and report back

    cheers for replies
